NGFR, also known as p75 neurotrophin receptor (p75NTR) and CD271, is a cell surface receptor that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor receptor superfamily. There are two general classes of neurotrophin receptors: the high-affinity nerve growth factor tyrosine kinase receptors Trk A, B and C (encoded by NTRK1, NTRK2, and NTRK3, respectively) and the low-affinity nerve growth factor receptor NGFR.
