Storage & Stability Lyophilized recombinant Human TWEAK (CHO-expressed) (rHuTWEAK) is stored at -20°C. After reconstitution, it is stable at 4°C for 1 week or -20°C for longer. It is recommended to freeze aliquots at -20°C or -80°C for extended storage. Shipping Room temperature in continental US; may vary elsewhere. Background TWEAK is a cytokine that belongs to the tumor necrosis factor (TNF) ligand family. TWEAK is a ligand for the FN14/TWEAKR receptor. TWEAK has overlapping signaling functions with TNF, but displays a much wider tissue distribution. Leukocytes are the main source of TWEAK including human resting and activated monocytes, dendritic cells and natural killer cells[1]. TWEAK can induce apoptosis via multiple pathways of cell death in a cell type-specific manner. This cytokine is also found to promote proliferation and migration of endothelial cells, and thus acts as a regulator of angiogenesis[2]. |
